 Our first duplex buyer boot camp went extremely well thanks to everyone who participated!
 Nov. 10th, Texas Equity Alliance hosted their first Duplex Buyer Boot Camp and Property Tour here in Austin. We caravaned out to 20 of the best properties in town and were able to get inside about 6 of them. The goal of the tour was to give folks that were interested in duplex investing a chance to "kick the tires" on some real active duplex listings.
We covered most of the city from areas 10S (Slaughter and Manchaca) all the way up to NW (Anderson Mill and 183). We had a mixed crowd of owner-occupant investors as well as non-OO's who plan on getting a turnkey investment in this amazing city! DOWNLOAD THE MOVIE CLIP HERE! This was a FREE tour but one of the stipulations for coming out was that everyone had to wear some item of clothing that was CAMOUFLAGE... Which led to some pretty interesting fashion police moments, but all in good fun! Congrats to Forrest and Carla, new owner-occupants and Camo Contest winners! I love it when we can match owner occupants with fantastic duplexes! A local couple with the goal of building assets BEFORE getting into the big monster house payment decided to do the smart thing and owner occupy a duplex first, and then get the dream home afterwards!! So many people are caught up in the cycle of buying their home, then selling their home to buy a bigger home... This goes on for years and years, never building any assets along the way... Congratulations to our new owner occupants doing it safely and wisely!
